Immune exhaustion is a hallmark of ovarian cancer. Using multiparametric flow cytometry, the study aimed to analyze protein expression of novel immunological targets on CD3+ T cells isolated from the peripheral blood (n = 20), malignant ascites (n = 16), and tumor tissue (n = 6) of patients with ovarian cancer (OVCA). The study revealed an increased proportion of effector memory CD8+ T cells in OVCA tissue and malignant ascites. An OVCA-characteristic PD-1high CD8+ T cell population was detected, which differed from PD-1lowCD8+ T cells by increased co-expression of TIGIT, CD39, and HLA-DR. In addition, these OVCA-characteristic CD8+ T cells showed reduced expression of the transcription factor TCF-1, which may also indicate reduced effector function and memory formation. On the contrary, the transcription factor TOX, which significantly regulates terminal T cell-exhaustion, was found more frequently in these cells. Further protein and gene analysis showed that CD39 and CD73 were also expressed on OVCA tumor cells isolated from solid tumors (n = 14) and malignant ascites (n = 9). In the latter compartment, CD39 and CD73 were also associated with the expression of the "don't eat me" molecule CD24 on tumor cells. Additionally, ascites-derived CD24+EpCAM+ tumor cells showed a higher frequency of CD39+ or CD73+ cells. Furthermore, CD39 expression was associated with unfavorable clinical parameters. Expression of CD39 on T cells was upregulated through CD3/CD28 stimulation and its blockade by a newly developed nanobody construct resulted in increased proliferation (eFluor), activation (CD25 and CD134), and production of cytotoxic cytokines (IFN-γ, TNF-α, and granzyme-B) of CD8+ T cells.

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women globally, and surgical procedures continue to be the primary treatment. However, over 50% of patients experience preoperative anxiety due to the unknown and fear associated with surgery. Although drug therapy is commonly used to address this anxiety, its side effects have led to a heated debate regarding its effectiveness. Consequently, non-pharmacological therapies, such as preoperative education, have emerged as an alternative approach to alleviate anxiety. WeChat, a widely popular social media platform, offers a public platform that can potentially be utilized for effective preoperative education. This study aims to evaluate the use of WeChat public platform as a tool for preoperative education in patients undergoing breast surgery. METHODS: This is a prospective, randomized, and controlled trial will involve 392 adult women scheduled for breast cancer resection. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the WeChat education group or the regular group. In addition to regular preoperative visits, the WeChat education group will also watch science videos through the WeChat public platform. The regular group will only receive education from ward nurses during preoperative visits. The primary outcome measure will be the incidence of preoperative anxiety, defined by scores of the State Anxiety Inventory (SAI) exceeding 40 points. Secondary outcome measures include the incidence of severe anxiety (SAI > 44) on the day before surgery, incidence of anxiety 72 h after surgery, incidence of severe anxiety 72 h after surgery, NRS scores for pain at rest and during activity 24, 48, and 72 h after surgery, incidence of nausea and vomiting within 24 h after surgery, subjective sleep score at 1 week postoperatively, quality of life QoR-15 scores at 1 and 3 months postoperatively, incidence of chronic pain at 3 months postoperatively, bowel function recovery, length of hospital stay, and hospitalization expenses. DISCUSSION: This is the first clinical trial to investigate the use of WeChat public platform for delivering preoperative education on perioperative anxiety in breast cancer patients. By utilizing the renowned WeChat public platform, our study aims to improve patient outcomes by providing video education that explains the disease, surgery, and anesthesia in a more accessible manner, thereby reducing the incidence of perioperative anxiety. If our hypothesis is confirmed, this non-pharmacological approach can be universally acknowledged as a cost-effective and practical method in clinical care. Its application can also be extended to other medical fields beyond breast cancer. TRIAL REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT05291494. Registered on 29 December 2021.

Charging LiCoO2 to high voltages yields alluring specific capacities, yet the deleterious phase-transitions lead to significant capacity degradation. Herein, this study demonstrates a novel strategy to stabilize LiCoO2 at 4.6 V by doping with Er and Mg at the Li-site and Co-site, respectively, which is different from the traditional method of doping foreign elements solely at the Co-site. Theoretical calculations and experiments jointly reveal that the inclusion of Mg2+ -dopants at the Co-site curbs the hexagonal-monoclinic phase transitions ≈4.2 V. However, this unintentionally compromises the stability of lattice oxygen in LiCoO2 , exacerbating the undesired phase transition (O3 to H1-3) above 4.45 V. Fascinatingly, the introduction of Er3+ -dopants into Li-sites enhances the stability of lattice oxygen in LiCoO2 , effectively mitigating phase transitions above 4.45 V. Therefore, the Er, Mg co-doped LiCoO2 exhibits high stability over 500 cycles when tested in a half-cell with a cut-off voltage of 4.6 V. Furthermore, the Er, Mg-doped LiCoO2 //graphite pouch-type full cell demonstrates a high energy density of 310.8 Wh kg-1 , preserving 91.3% of its energy over 100 cycles.

Ischemic stroke is a common neurological disease. Currently, there are no Food and Drug Administration-approved drugs that can maximize the improvement in ischemic stroke-induced nerve damage. Hence, treating ischemic stroke remains a clinical challenge. Ferroptosis has been increasingly studied in recent years, and it is closely related to the pathophysiological process of ischemic stroke. Iron overload, reactive oxygen species accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and glutamate accumulation associated with ferroptosis are all present in ischemic stroke. This article focuses on describing the relationship between ferroptosis and ischemic stroke and summarizes the relevant substances that ameliorate ischemic stroke-induced neurological damage by inhibiting ferroptosis. Finally, the problems in the treatment of ischemic stroke targeting ferroptosis are discussed, hoping to provide a new direction for its treatment.

Microspheres (MSs) are ideal candidates as biological scaffolds loading with growth factors or cells for bone tissue engineering to repair irregular alveolar bone defects by minimally invasive injection. However, the high initial burst release of growth factor and low cell attachment limit the application of microspheres. The modification of microspheres often needs expensive experiments facility or complex chemical reactions, which is difficult to achieve and may bring other problems. In this study, a sol-grade nanoclay, laponite XLS is used to modify the surface of MSs to enhance its affinity to either positively or negatively charged proteins and cells without changing the interior structure of the MSs. Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) is used as a representation of growth factor to check the osteoinduction ability of laponite XLS-modified MSs. By modification, the protein sustained release, cell loading, and osteoinduction ability of MSs are improved. Modified by 1% laponite XLS, the MSs can not only promote osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells by themselves, but also enhance the effect of the rhBMP-2 below the effective dose. Collectively, the study provides an easy and viable method to modify the biological behavior of microspheres for bone tissue regeneration.

Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), miR-23a, apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1(ASK1)/c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), autophagy and apoptosis play crucial roles in follicular development. However, their role in yak granulosa cells (GCs) remains unknown. Therefore, we examined the effect of miR-23a, ASK1, FSH, and LH on apoptosis, autophagy, and the release and reception of some steroid hormones in these cells. Our results showed that miR-23a overexpression significantly increased the abundance of Beclin1, the LC3II/I ratio, and the number of Ad-mRFP-GFP-LC3-labeled autophagosomes, and decreased p62 abundance. Additionally, Bax abundance and the number of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase deoxynucleotide triphosphate nick end labeling-positive cells were reduced, while Bcl2 expression was increased. Overexpression of miR-23a also significantly increased the abundance of estradiol receptor α (ER-α) and ß (ER-ß) and the concentrations of estradiol (E2), progesterone (P4) in yak GCs. Here, treating yak GCs with miR-23a decreased ASK1 expression, which regulates ASK1/JNK-mediated apoptosis, autophagy, E2 and P4 levels, and ER-α/ß abundance. In contrast, treatment of yak GCs with FSH (10 µg/mL) and LH (100 µg/mL) increased miR-23a abundance, regulating the subsequent effect on ASK1/JNK-mediated apoptosis, autophagy, ER-α/ß abundance, and E2 and P4 concentrations. In conclusion, miR-23a enhances autophagy in yak GCs, attenuates apoptosis, and increases ER-α/ß abundance and E2 and P4 concentrations by downregulating ASK1. Additionally, FSH and LH can regulate these effects of miR-23a by altering its expression. These results provide important insights that can inform the development of strategies to reduce abnormal follicular atresia and improve the reproductive rate of yaks.

BACKGROUND: The essential roles of platelets in thrombosis have been well recognized. Unexpectedly, thrombosis is prevalent during thrombocytopenia induced by cytotoxicity of biological, physical and chemical origins, which could be suffered by military personnel and civilians during chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear events. Especially, thrombosis is considered a major cause of mortality from radiation injury-induced thrombocytopenia, while the underlying pathogenic mechanism remains elusive. METHODS: A mouse model of radiation injury-induced thrombocytopenia was built by exposing mice to a sublethal dose of ionizing radiation (IR). The phenotypic and functional changes of platelets and megakaryocytes (MKs) were determined by a comprehensive set of in vitro and in vivo assays, including flow cytometry, flow chamber, histopathology, Western blotting, and chromatin immunoprecipitation, in combination with transcriptomic analysis. The molecular mechanism was investigated both in vitro and in vivo, and was consolidated using MK-specific knockout mice. The translational potential was evaluated using a human MK cell line and several pharmacological inhibitors. RESULTS: In contrast to primitive MKs, mature MKs (mMKs) are intrinsically programmed to be apoptosis-resistant through reprogramming the Bcl-xL-BAX/BAK axis. Interestingly, mMKs undergo minority mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization (MOMP) post IR, resulting in the activation of the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of IFN genes (cGAS-STING) pathway via the release of mitochondrial DNA. The subsequent interferon-ß (IFN-ß) response in mMKs upregulates a GTPase guanylate-binding protein 2 (GBP2) to produce large and hyperreactive platelets that favor thrombosis. Further, we unmask that autophagy restrains minority MOMP in mMKs post IR. CONCLUSIONS: Our study identifies that megakaryocytic mitochondria-cGAS/STING-IFN-ß-GBP2 axis serves as a fundamental checkpoint that instructs the size and function of platelets upon radiation injury and can be harnessed to treat platelet pathologies.

BACKGROUND: Contact tracing has been essential to reducing spread of COVID-19. Singapore leveraged technology to assist with contact tracing efforts using a Bluetooth-based app and token platform called 'TraceTogether'. METHODS: We reviewed the impact of this system during the country's Delta and Omicron waves (24 August 2021 to 17 February 2022) to identify differences in number of close contacts and time savings between full automation using TraceTogether alone as compared to manual contact tracing supplemented by TraceTogether. Characteristics of digital contact tracing app or token users were reviewed. Thereafter, the number of close contacts identified by manual and digital contact tracing methods, and the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among contacts were analysed. The difference in time taken for identification of close contacts was also determined. FINDINGS: Adoption rate for TraceTogether was high, with 93.3% of cases having a registered device. There was a 9.8 h (34.9%) reduction in time savings for close contacts to be informed using TraceTogether alone compared to manual contact tracing supplemented by TraceTogether. The proportion of close contacts automatically identified through TraceTogether alone and turned positive was 3.6%. For those identified through manual contact tracing supplemented by TraceTogether, this proportion was 12.5% and 6.2% for those served quarantine orders and health risk warnings respectively. INTERPRETATION: The high adoption rate of 'TraceTogether' suggest that digital solutions remain a promising option to improve contact tracing in future epidemics. This may have been through its concurrent use with vaccine differentiated public health measures and policies which engender public trust. There is future potential for utilising such technology in managing communicable diseases to achieve good public health outcomes.

BACKGROUND: It was hypothesized that governor vessel moxibustion (GVM) therapy may improve the course of mild to moderate psoriasis (PS) in patients. METHODS: A randomized, controlled clinical trial lasting 40 days was conducted at the Shaanxi Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. Investigators were blinded to patient groupings. Individuals with mild to moderate PS ranging in age from 18 to 70 years were enrolled. GVM therapy was administered one every 10 days for 40 days with 1.5 hours on the governor meridian in the GVM therapy group. The PS area and severity index (PASI) and dermatological life quality index (DLQI) scores were monitored before and after treatment. RESULTS: There was a significant reduction in the mean PASI score in the GVM therapy group of 0.76 points (2.37 [2.61]; SE, 0.39) after 40 days of treatment compared with the control group (3.12 [2.12], SE, 0.32) (P < .01). There were also significantly greater changes in the DLQI scores of the GVM therapy group (4.23 [2.25]; SE, 0.34) compared with those in the control group (8.91 [3.85]; SE, 0.59) (P < .001). CONCLUSION: GVM therapy effectively reduced both PASI and DLQI scores in patients with mild to moderate PS.

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) are established prognostic biomarkers for patients with gastric cancer. However, their potential as predictive markers for neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) efficacy has not been fully elucidated. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective analysis to determine values of CEA and CA19-9 prior to NACT (pre-NACT) and after NACT (post-NACT) in 399 patients with locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC) who received intended NACT and surgery. RESULTS: Among the 399 patients who underwent NACT plus surgery, 132 patients (33.1%) had elevated pre-NACT CEA/CA19-9 values. Furthermore, either pre-NACT or post-NACT CEA /CA19-9 levels were significantly associated with prognosis (p = 0.0023) compared to patients with non-elevated levels. Moreover, among the patients, a significant proportion (73/132, 55.3%) achieved normalized CEA/CA19-9 following NACT, which is a strong marker of a favorable treatment response and survival benefits. In addition, the patients with normalized CEA/CA19-9 also had a prolonged survival compared to those who underwent surgery first (p = 0.0140), which may be attributed to the clearance of micro-metastatic foci. Additionally, the magnitude of CEA/CA19-9 changes did not exhibit a statistically significant prognostic value. CONCLUSIONS: Normalization of CEA/CA19-9 is a strong biomarker for the effectiveness of treatment, and can thus be exploited to prolong the long-term survival of patients with LAGC.

Although RNA interference (RNAi) therapy has emerged as a potential tool in cancer therapeutics, the application of RNAi to glioblastoma (GBM) remains a hurdle. Herein, to improve the therapeutic effect of RNAi on GBM, a cancer cell membrane (CCM)-disguised hypoxia-triggered RNAi nanomedicine was developed for short interfering RNA (siRNA) delivery to sensitize cells to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Our synthesized CCM-disguised RNAi nanomedicine showed prolonged blood circulation, high BBB transcytosis and specific accumulation in GBM sites via homotypic recognition. Disruption and effective anti-GBM agents were triggered in the hypoxic region, leading to efficient tumor suppression by using phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1) silencing to enhance paclitaxel-induced chemotherapy and sensitize hypoxic GBM cells to ionizing radiation. In summary, a biomimetic intelligent RNAi nanomedicine has been developed for siRNA delivery to synergistically mediate a combined chemo/radiotherapy that presents immune-free and hypoxia-triggered properties with high survival rates for orthotopic GBM treatment.

Background: YKL-40, which is also known as Chitiniase 3-like 1, has been found to be up-regulated in many autoimmune diseases including asthma, systemic sclerosis and systemic lupus, etc. However, the relationship between serum levels of YKL-40 and one another common autoinmmue thyroid disease - Graves' disease (GD) has not yet been investigated.Objective: The current study was performed to investigate the correlation of serum YKL-40 levels with disease severity of initially diagnosed GD.Methods: A total of 142 newly diagnosed active GD and 137 healthy individuals were enrolled in the study. Methimazole was given to 55 GD patients and then 2-month study of follow-up was performed. A commercial ELISA kit was applied for the detection of YKL-40 in serum. Degree of goiter was assessed according to Pérez's Grade. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was carried out to detect the diagnostic value of serum YKL-40 with regard to goiter degree. The velocity of the peak systolic blood-flow and the thyroid tissue blood flow (TBF) were examined using Color Flow Doppler ultrasonography (CFDU).Results: The patients with GD exhibited dramatically higher YKL-40 in serum compared to those of healthy controls (606.1 ± 149.8 pg/mL vs. 397.4 ± 95.1 pg/mL, P < 0.001). Positive associations of YKL-40 with free T3 (FT3) and T4 (FT4), as well as the negative correlation of YKL-40 with TSH in serum, were observed. Additionally, the YKL-40 in serum was dramatically reduced after methimazole intervention, and the correlation of the decline with the reduced FT3 and FT4 was also found (all P < 0.001). Serum YKL-40 levels were positively correlated with goiter degree. ROC curve analysis demonstrated that serum YKL-40 concentration may act as a decent marker for goiter degree. The positive correlations of YKL-40 in serum with the average superior thyroid artery velocity (STV) and thyroid tissue blood flow (TBF) were also observed.Conclusion: Our findings implicated that YKL-40 may be closely connected to the pathogenesis of GD. Increased YKL-40 levels are linked with disease severity of initially diagnosed GD.

Pregnancy is a critical period associated with alterations in physiologic, biologic, and immunologic processes, which can affect maternal-fetal health through development of several infectious diseases. At birth, neonates have an immature immune system that makes them more susceptible to severe viral infections and diseases. For this reason, different maternal nutritional and immunization interventions have been used to improve the immune and health status of the mother and her neonate through passive immunity. Here, we reviewed the protective role of maternal immunization with different types of vaccines, especially genetic vaccines, during pregnancy in maternal-fetal health, immune response, colostrum quality, immune response, and anti-oxidative status. For this purpose, we have used different scientific databases (PubMed and Google Scholar) and other official web pages. We customized the search period range from the year 2000 to 2023 using the key words "maternal immunization" OR "gestation period/pregnancy" OR "genetic vaccination" OR "maternal-fetal health" OR "micronutrients" OR "neonatal immunity" "oxidative stress" OR "colostrum quality". The evidence demonstrated that inactivated or killed vaccines produced significant immune protection in the mother and fetus. Furthermore, most recent studies have suggested that the use of genetic vaccines (mRNA and DNA) during pregnancy is efficient at triggering the immune response in mother and neonate without the risk of undesired pregnancy outcomes. However, factors such as maternal redox balance, nutritional status, and the timing of immunization play essential roles in regulating immune response inflammatory status, antioxidant capacity, and the welfare of both the pregnant mother and her newborn.

BACKGROUND: Sugammadex has been reported to lower the incidence of postoperative residual neuromuscular blockade. Despite the advantages, until recently the effects of sugammadex on postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) were controversial. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine whether reversal with sugammadex was associated with a lower risk of PPCs compared with neostigmine. METHODS: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched from inception to May 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies comparing PPCs in patients receiving sugammadex or neostigmine as reversal agent at the end of surgery were included. The primary outcomes focused on PPCs including desaturation, pneumonia, atelectasis, noninvasive ventilation (NIV) and reintubation. Trial sequential analysis was performed on the primary outcomes to confirm whether firm evidence was reached. RESULTS: Meta-analysis of included studies showed that the rate of desaturation (43.2% vs 45.0%, RR = 0.82; 95% CI 0.63 to 1.05; p = 0.11) were comparable between the two groups. When looking at other primary outcomes, significantly lower risk of pneumonia (1.37% vs 2.45%, RR = 0.65; 95% CI 0.49 to 0.85; p = 0.002), atelectasis (24.6% vs 30.4%, RR = 0.64; 95% CI 0.42 to 0.98; p = 0.04), NIV (1.37% vs 2.33%, RR = 0.65; 95% CI 0.43 to 0.98; p = 0.04) and reintubation (0.99% vs 1.65%, RR = 0.62; 95% CI 0.43 to 0.91; p = 0.01) in the sugammadex group were detected compared with the neostigmine group. CONCLUSIONS: We concluded that sugammadex is more effective at reducing the incidence of PPCs including pneumonia, atelectasis, NIV and reintubation compared with neostigmine. Further evidence, preferably from RCTs, is required to confirm these findings.

Heart failure is the final destination of most cardiovascular diseases, and its complex molecular mechanisms remain largely uncertain. This study aimed to systematically investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms and diagnostic and therapeutic targets of heart failure using bioinformatics. We obtained 8 healthy samples and 8 heart failure samples from GSE8331 and GSE76701. After removing the batch effect, we performed a differential analysis on it and obtained 185 differentially expressed ID. The results of enrichment analysis showed that the molecular mechanisms of heart failure were mostly related to immune, inflammation, and metabolism-related pathways. Immune cell infiltration analysis showed that the degree of infiltration of Tgd cells and Neurons was significantly enriched in heart failure samples, whereas pDCs and NKTs were in healthy tissue samples. We obtained Hub genes including EGR1, EGR2, FOS and FOSB by PPI network analysis. We established a 4-gene diagnostic model with Hub gene, and validated it in GSE21610 and GSE57338, and evaluated the discriminative ability of Hub gene by ROC curve. The 4-gene diagnostic model has an AUC value of 0.775 in GSE21610 and 0.877 in GSE57338. In conclusion, we explored the underlying molecular mechanisms of heart failure and the immune cell infiltration environment of failing myocardium by performing bioinformatic analysis of the GEO dataset. In addition, we identified EGR1, EGR2, FOS and FOSB as potential diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for heart failure. More importantly, a diagnostic model of heart failure based on these 4 genes was developed, which leads to a new understanding of the pathogenesis of heart failure and may be an interesting target for future in-depth research.

BACKGROUND: Postpartum ovarian vein thrombophlebitis (POVT) is a rare but serious postpartum complication that affects mostly postpartum women. A high index of suspicion is required when faced with sudden postpartum abdominal pain. CASE SUMMARY: A 25-year-old healthy woman who accepted a vaginal delivery procedure suffered fever (temperature 39.6℃) one day after delivery, accompanied with left lower abdominal pain. Physical examination indicated mild tenderness in the left lower abdomen, accompanied with rebound pain. The patient was confirmed to have left ovarian venous thrombosis with inflammation after receiving a multi-detector row computed tomography scan. CONCLUSION: POVT is a rare and dangerous postpartum complication. A high index of suspicion is required for the occurrence of ovarian venous thrombosis when faced with postpartum abdominal pain and fever. Early application of Doppler ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and other auxiliary examinations is conducive to timely and accurate diagnosis of POVT, thus reducing maternal mortality.

The Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) is a GNSS augmentation that provides precise satellite corrections to users worldwide for free directly through Galileo's E6 signal. The HAS service provides free PPP corrections from the Galileo constellation and the Internet, with targeted real-time 95% positioning performance of better than 20 cm horizontal and 40 cm vertical error after 5 min of convergence time globally and shorter in Europe. The HAS initial service, under validation at the time of writing, provides these capabilities with a reduced performance (based on the current Galileo stations network). Live HAS test signals broadcasted from the Galileo satellites during summer 2022 have been decoded and analyzed. Corrections include Galileo and GPS orbit, clock, and code bias corrections, with SISRE of 10.6 cm and 11.8 cm for Galileo and GPS, respectively. Code bias corrections showed good performance as well, with rms of 0.28 ns, 0.26 ns, and 0.22 ns for Galileo C1C-C5Q, C1C-C7Q, and C1C-C6C, respectively, and 0.20 ns for GPS C1C-C2L. Float PPP positioning performance results show that the combined Galileo and GPS solution can already achieve the HAS full service accuracy performance target and is close in terms of convergence time, with 95% rms of 13.1 cm and 18.6 cm horizontally and vertically, respectively, in kinematic mode, and with a 95% convergence time of 7.5 min. The latter is expected to be improved with the inclusion of satellite phase bias and local atmospheric corrections. With these early Galileo HAS test signals, this preliminary analysis indicates that the HAS full service targets are attainable. Finally, a correction latency analysis is performed, showing that even with latency of up to 60 s, positioning can remain within the targeted HAS accuracy performance.

Precise positioning using smartphones has been a topic of interest especially after Google decided to provide raw GNSS measurement through their Android platform. Currently, the greatest limitations in precise positioning with smartphone Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) sensors are the quality and availability of satellite-to-smartphone ranging measurements. Many papers have assessed the quality of GNSS pseudorange and carrier-phase measurements in various environments. In addition, there is growing research in the inclusion of a priori information to model signal blockage, multipath, etc. In this contribution, numerical estimation of actual range errors in smartphone GNSS precise positioning in realistic environments is performed using a geodetic receiver as a reference. The range errors are analyzed under various environments and by placing smartphones on car dashboards and roofs. The distribution of range errors and their correlation to prefit residuals is studied in detail. In addition, a comparison of range errors between different constellations is provided, aiming to provide insight into the quantitative understanding of measurement behavior. This information can be used to further improve measurement quality control, and optimize stochastic modeling and position estimation processes.

Objective@#The study aimed to develop Questionnaire for Parental Acceptability of School based Depression Symptom Screening by Delphi method, so as to provide a reference and suggestions for promoting screening adolescents depression.@*Methods@#The study was conducted through the literature review and two rounds of the Delphi expert consultation. The initial construction of scale dimension and item was conducted through the literature search. A survey of 12 experts from 6 different provinces, cities and regions in China was conducted, and the Delphi technique was used to collect and analyze expert opinions data about the importance and feasibility of questionnaire content. The dimensions and specific items of the questionnaire were finally determinded.@*Results@#The response rates were 100% in both rounds of Delphi consultation. Kendall coordination degree W =0.22 ( χ 2=63.72, P <0.01), which showed the agreement of expert opinions. The initial scale consisted of 4 dimensions and 17 items, including parental cognition of school based depression screening, parental cognition of school depression screening results feedback and management, parental attitude of school based depression screening, parental utilization of mental health services. After two rounds of expert consulattion, the final scale consisted of 3 first grade dimensions including parental cognition of depression symptom, parental attitude of school based depression symptom screening and parental mental health promotion behaviour, and also cinsisted of 4 second grade dimensions including parental knowledge of depression symptom, parental attitude of school based depression symptom screening, parental choice preference of school based depression symptom screening, parental utilization of mental health services, which had a total of 25 items.@*Conclusion@#The questionnaire is developed for assessing parental acceptability of school based depression screening and associated factors. The finding will facilitate mental health services providers in the screening implementation, but further empirical research is still needed.

Objective:To observe any effect of combining low-frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) with interactive virtual scenario training on the recovery of upper limb motor function after a stroke.Methods:Ninety stroke survivors were randomly divided into a pseudo-rTMS group, an rTMS group and a combination group, each of 30. In addition to basic medication, conventional rehabilitation and nursing care, the pseudo-rTMS, rTMS and combination groups received either sham rTMS treatment, 1Hz rTMS or virtual situational interaction along with 1Hz rTMS 5 days a week for 4 weeks. Before and after the 4 weeks their motor evoked potentials, cortical latency and central motor conduction time were measured, and surface electromyography was applied to the affected biceps brachii and triceps brachii. Meanwhile, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, the Fugl-Meyer upper extremity assessment and the modified Barthel index were employed to assess the degree of neurological deficit, upper extremity motor function and ability in the activities of daily living (ADL).Results:After the 4-week intervention, a significant improvement was observed in all of the outcome measurements with all three groups. At that time the average scores of the rTMS group were significantly better than the pseudo-rTMS group′s averages but the average scores of the combination group were significantly better than those of either of the other two groups.Conclusion:Repeated application of low-frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with virtual scenario interactive training can effectively improve the upper limb motor function and ADL performance of stroke survivors, and relieve the symptoms of neurological deficit. The combined therapy is worthy of application in clinical practice.
